Cats is a musical with actors pretending to be cats! The whole goal of the cats is to get chosen to live another life as another cat. Macavity is one of the cats that is trying to do it evilly by kidnapping his competition.
I found all of the music very catchy and I have always loved musicals. It was especially enjoyable for me because I have seen the old one repeatedly growing up. It was super fun seeing it redone.
On a side note, I noticed that some people think the cats were kind of creepy in this version. I personally thought they were cute – albeit in a weird way.
My favorite song from it was Memory, which was also my favorite from the original version. It was just very impactful.
I would recommend Cats to anyone who enjoys a good musical… and loves cats.
