Review:
Hades is a rogue-lite action game that I played on my PlayStation 5, and wow—what an incredible ride! Developed by Supergiant Games, it takes place in the underworld where you play as Zagreus, the rebellious son of Hades, trying to escape the depths of Hell. Every level brings a fresh environment, unique enemies, and tons of colorful, fully-voiced characters to meet, befriend… or romance. 😉
Even though it’s set in the underworld, the art style is absolutely beautiful—vibrant, stylish, and full of life (and death). The environments and animations are eye-catching, and the character designs are top-tier.
There’s so much content in this game—between all the godly boons, storylines, character interactions, and unlockables, you can keep playing well after you beat the main story. And if you’re like me and don’t want to rage-quit constantly, the God Mode setting is a lifesaver. It lets you focus more on the rich narrative and juicy character development while still feeling like you’re earning every win.
The writing is witty, the voice acting is phenomenal, and there are thousands of tiny moments that make the whole experience feel deeply personal and rewarding.
Overall, Hades is a fantastic rogue-lite with heart, action, and a ton of replayability. Highly recommended to anyone who loves a challenge with a little mythological flair!
