Yakuza Kiwami

A gripping action RPG with an engaging story and intense combat, though the confusing maps can occasionally break the immersion.

Genre: Action, RPG
Platform: Played on Playstation 5

Review:

Yakuza Kiwami is an action combat RPG I played on my Playstation 5, and let me tell you—it’s an incredible experience. The story is absolutely gripping, pulling you in from start to finish, and keeping you hooked with its twists and turns. There are tons of side stories, missions, and mini-games to dive into, making sure you’re never bored as you progress through the main plot. Plus, you can keep playing even after the main story wraps up, which is awesome.

You play as Kiryu, who is just an amazing character—he’s tough, honorable, and totally kicks butt in every fight. The combat is fun, and while I played on easy mode to focus more on the story, I still enjoyed the action. That said, the mechanics were a bit hit or miss. The maps, in particular, were confusing at times, and I found myself Googling directions more than once. I hope the maps and mechanics improve as I continue through the series.

Overall, Yakuza Kiwami offers a fantastic story with a lot of depth, solid combat, and a retro vibe. I’m really looking forward to playing the rest of the series and seeing how the gameplay evolves!

My Rating: 7.5/10
