Good Boy

A twisted tale of puppy love gone deeply, disturbingly wrong.

Genre: Horror, Psychological, Foreign
Platform: Watched on Tubi

Review:

Good Boy is an international horror film that I watched on Tubi—and let me tell you, this one takes “bizarre” to a whole new level. The story starts off somewhat normal: a woman goes on a date with a guy she met through a dating app. But then, boom—enter Frank, the man’s “pet dog”… who is actually a man in a full dog costume.

At first, you think maybe Frank is just into some weird roleplay and enjoying the lifestyle. But as the story unfolds, you start to realize something much darker is at play—possibly even kidnapping and coercion. And just when you think it can’t get any stranger, the movie hits you with a massive twist ending where the woman herself becomes a “dog” and somehow ends up with a child—leaving you with a lot of questions and a seriously uneasy feeling.

Despite the weirdness (or maybe because of it?), I really enjoyed it. It’s not gory, but it’s definitely a psychological horror that sticks with you. There’s one male-on-male spanking scene, but nothing explicitly sexual happens between Frank and his “owner,” which honestly made it even eerier.

Overall, Good Boy is a unique, disturbing, and oddly compelling ride. Perfect if you’re into psychological horror with a big side of “what did I just watch?”

My Rating: 7/10
