Jessabelle

Jessabelle is a movie by Lionsgate and Bloomhouse currently available on Hulu. It starts off with Jessabelle and her partner moving out of their old house. When her partner dies right outside of their former home in a car crash, she also ends up paralyzed from the waist down. She decides to move in with her father, after spending some time in the hospital… however, her father lives down south.

Things start going wrong when Jessabelle finds some tapes of her dead mother – who believes she can tell the future… Her dad sets the tapes on fire, and she finds out all the town people hate her (because of something her mom did when she was a baby.)

The underwater scene towards the end of the movie was actually a really cool way of showing a possession. I thought throughout the whole movie that there was always ways that they would angle the camera – which made the creature and everything else seem way creepier. It was very creative cinematography.

I give it a 7/10.
