Review:
Rise of Ronin is an action-packed RPG that I played on my PlayStation 5, and it was an incredible journey through a world full of history, customization, and intense challenges. You play as a Ronin (a masterless samurai) where you can choose to be either male or female, and there’s an impressive amount of character customization. From weapon choices to armor options, you have a ton of freedom to tailor your character to suit your preferred playstyle.
The game’s quests are engaging and varied, with a strong emphasis on exploration. There’s a lot to discover, from collecting cats and petting adorable dogs to uncovering the deep lore of the world. While the romance options are a fun addition, they don’t drastically change the main storyline — it’s more of a nice touch rather than a game-changing mechanic.
I spent around ninety hours on the game, diving into some side quests, though I was mostly focused on the main story. There’s always something to do, whether it’s exploring beautiful landscapes, fighting enemies, or uncovering hidden treasures.
The game’s mechanics were well done, but it definitely leans on the challenging side. Even on “easy” mode, I found myself getting frustrated a few times — especially during intense combat sequences. There were a couple of glitches along the way, like when enemies would meet unfortunate fate and their heads would bounce around (which was a bit odd, but not game-breaking).
Despite these small annoyances, the story and the overall experience were fantastic. The game offers a lot of depth, and it kept me coming back for more. The exploration and character building make it a game worth investing in, especially for fans of challenging action RPGs.
My Rating: 8/10
