Review:
Hush is a gripping horror-thriller that had me hooked from start to finish. The story follows a deaf writer who retreats to a secluded cabin in the woods for some peace and quiet—only to find herself hunted by a terrifying masked intruder.
Even though the main character doesn’t have much dialogue, she’s incredibly likable, and you can’t help but root for her the entire time. Also, let’s talk about her cat—easily one of the highlights of the movie! The fact that the cat makes it all the way to the end? That alone earns this movie some serious bonus points in my book!
The masked man may not be a supernatural creature, but he is absolutely terrifying in his own way. He’s brutal, relentless, and the way he talks to her makes me wonder if he was a former boyfriend. Either way, he’s unhinged and makes for a chilling villain.
The pacing is perfect—the movie runs about an hour and a half, which keeps things moving without ever dragging. It’s packed with suspense, some seriously intense action moments, and just enough heart to keep you fully invested.
Overall, Hush is an intense and unique horror movie with an awesome protagonist, a terrifying villain, and an adorable kitty that lives. What more could you ask for?
