A chillingly fresh take on vampires…

Review:
Vincent is not your run-of-the-mill horror movie, and that’s exactly what makes it so intriguing. At around an hour and a half, it hits the sweet spot for storytelling—long enough to pull you into its eerie world but short enough to avoid overstaying its welcome. From the very beginning, it’s clear that this isn’t about buckets of gore or relentless jumpscares; instead, it offers a more subdued, thought-provoking take on the vampire mythos.
In this version of vampirism, Vincent isn’t a suave, cape-wearing bloodsucker lurking in the shadows. No, he’s a man struggling with a debilitating condition that makes him incredibly sick without blood. Staying cool is another necessity—fans, ice cubes, whatever he can get—adding a tangible sense of realism to his plight. It’s a fascinating spin that brings a grounded, almost scientific vibe to a classic horror trope.
What really stands out is the atmosphere. The movie has a quiet intensity, with an unsettling tone that builds slowly, leaving you on edge as the story unfolds. The ending, while not spoon-fed, is the kind that sticks with you, making you replay the film’s events in your head and wonder what you might have missed.
While it may not be for fans of traditional, gore-filled horror, Vincent offers something unique—a subtle, cerebral horror experience that leaves a lasting impression. I, for one, hope we see more inventive takes on vampires like this in the future.
My Rating: 8/10!
