I watched it on Peacock, and at first, I was skeptical about the concept of a vampire ballerina. It sounds a bit cringey, but trust me—it’s a gory and thrilling ride that surprised me in the best way possible.
The movie centers around Abigail, who appears to be a young girl but is actually an ancient vampire. Her small stature and innocent appearance are deceptive, masking the terrifying power she possesses. The plot kicks into high gear when a group of criminals targets Abigail for a kidnapping, injecting her with a sedative to keep her subdued until they can demand a ransom from her incredibly wealthy father.
Things really get interesting when Abigail awakens and reveals her true vampire form. With her sharp teeth and glowing blue eyes, she is both mesmerizing and horrifying—a perfect blend for a creature of the night. One of the standout elements of Abigail is its portrayal of vampire hierarchy and control. Vampires who turn others have the ability to control them, almost like puppets, which adds a fascinating layer to the film’s dynamics and elevates the story beyond a typical vampire flick.
