Review:
Night Swim is a horror movie I recently watched on Peacock, brought to us by Blumhouse Productions. The film revolves around a unique and eerie concept: a haunted swimming pool that can offer miraculous gifts, such as healing someone’s illness, but at the cost of another person’s life. This intriguing premise sets the stage for a captivating story.
While the movie had moments that seemed more humorous than scary, it still managed to keep me engaged and invested in the characters. Despite not being particularly spooky, Night Swim offered an interesting ride and a plot that kept me curious. Its PG-13 rating makes it accessible for a younger audience, adding to its appeal as a light thriller.
One aspect that tugged at my heartstrings was the fate of the cat, which disappeared and was presumed dead—definitely a sad moment for animal lovers like me. The emotional climax of the film came when the father made the ultimate sacrifice by entering the pool, leading to the family’s decision to destroy the pool to prevent further sacrifices.
Overall, Night Swim may not be a perfect horror film, but it’s an amusing and engaging watch that can keep you entertained throughout.
My Rating: 6/10
